Ryan grew up in Midland, Michigan and began taking voice
lessons from Gwendolyn Pike at the age of 14. Through High
School, he was active in Music and Theater in both School and
Community Theater productions, as well as various vocal
competitions. He attended the University of Michigan on a
Vocal Tuition Scholarship and studied with Rosemary Russell
while there. After graduating with a Bachelor of Musical Arts
in Voice and Theater, Ryan moved to Chicago, Illinois. He
received a Non-Equity Wing Jeff Award for his portrayal of
Molina in Bailiwick Repertory Theatre's 2005 production of
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN.
